Privada Storytelling
Since 2015, Reinier Lorenzo’s annual Black Friday is a cult tradition. The 2021 Robusto Extra, first released on November 5, 2021, represents the boldest iteration yet—with a dense, oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and Nicaraguan core. Aged 4 years, this stick balances richness with nuance. It's a dark-horse release: sweet and creamy yet line-driven by spice—ideal for late-fall reflection and rich storytelling.
Flavor Journey
First third: Starting sweet and savory—think cherry caramel and salted caramel atop a leather-espresso foundation. Grahams and marshmallow emerge, while retrohale brings vanilla crème and mild red pepper warmth.
Mid-smoke: Creaminess deepens into café con leche and softened pecan notes. Cherry sweetness lingers under rich leather, while black pepper and earth add structure.
Final third: The sweetness recedes, making room for leather, red pepper heat, and a steak-like meaty note. Tobacco strength builds to medium-full; the finish remains flavorful through the end.
Why It Belongs in Privada
It’s the perfect boutique-aged story: HVC’s signature released matured into complexity, marrying sweetness, spice, and texture with a premium Broadleaf wrapper rarely seen in aged form. Aged richness meets a bold narrative—this is a premium modern artifact.
